Questions
Frequently asked questions about Ardent Leatherworks. Sizing, shipping, materials, custom orders, repairs, payment, lead time.
Anything not covered here, ask directly: [email protected].
- What size belt do I need?
-
Use the measurement method and current listed sizes at /sizing/belts/. An Ardent belt's size is the measurement in inches from the buckle fold to the middle hole. Do not order from a pants-size label alone; it is not a body or belt measurement. Contact the workshop about an unlisted size; price and timing are confirmed with the request.
- How long until it ships?
-
Confirm availability, shipping, and lead time with the workshop before ordering. A product page does not promise a start date unless its typed product record states one.
- Do you ship internationally?
-
Ask before ordering for an address outside the United States. The workshop will confirm whether it can accept the order and state the shipping charge.
- What if it doesn't fit?
-
If a belt does not fit, get in touch.
On the first wrong-size exchange, the workshop pays shipping from you to the workshop when you followed the published measurement method. For any other wrong-size exchange, you pay shipping to the workshop. For every wrong-size exchange, the workshop pays shipping for the corrected belt to you.
- What is your warranty?
-
The workshop record states this belt warranty: ‘Workmanship guaranteed. If it fails, we fix it.’ The full terms are at /terms/. The workshop record does not yet establish a warranty for the notebook or valet tray.
- Does it need conditioner?
-
For a product page that identifies tallow-stuffed harness leather, the workshop does not recommend routine conditioner. Use a dry cloth for dust, let wet leather dry slowly away from direct heat, and ask before applying a product that will change the leather's color or hand. Ask about a piece whose material record is still open; the full guidance is at /care/.
- Do you take custom orders?
-
Contact the workshop with a requested size or variation. Availability, price, and timing are confirmed before the work is accepted.
- How do I pay?
-
A catalog page without a checkout path does not accept payment. If the workshop accepts an order and provides a Stripe checkout path, Stripe shows the available payment methods there.
- Where is it made?
-
The workshop is in Pflugerville, Texas. Each product page states the construction supported by its workshop record; finished-piece photography remains the evidence for a specific item.
- What materials do you use?
-
The materials page identifies the recorded source and product scope for each current claim. It also separates manufacturer descriptions from workshop choices and leaves an unrecorded finished-piece specification open.
- How long will it last?
-
Lifespan depends on use, care, and damage. Harness leather is selected for load-bearing work, but leather can cut or crack, thread can abrade, and hardware can loosen. Darkening, softening, and brass oxidation are surface changes rather than a promised service life. Contact the workshop when a construction failure or damage appears.
